About the work
The second in a photo collage series inspired by the world of vintage computing, Data Cloud #02 is a surreal juxtaposition of vintage technology advertising, typographic overlay, and elements of the natural world. This piece is a hand-pulled, limited-edition screen print on 295gsm recycled paperback paper.
Maxine Gregson is a contemporary artist and printmaker based in Hackney, East London. Often inspired by music lyrics and literature, her work has been described as ‘Nostalgic Futurism’, and brings together typography, photography, grid layering and vintage motifs to create surrealist artworks that feel futuristic yet familiar. The CMYK printing process she favours helps merge old and new elements together to evoke highly emotive visual stories.
