Below you’ll find the facilities available to help you plan your visit.

  • If using public transport, the gallery is a 5 minute walk from Haymarket Metro station and main bus terminal for Newcastle City Centre.
  • You can access the gallery directly from the curb-side of Jesmond Road West
  • On street parking is available, at the cost of £1 per hour (2 hour max stay) Approximately 1-minute walk
  • There are four steps to access the gallery and a wheelchair accessible ramp is available (please contact us in advance to organise this facility)
  • Toilets are available on first and second floor landings accessed by a staircase. We do not currently have toilet facilities on our ground floor
  • Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcomed, with water bowls available
  • Guided and descriptive tours can also be booked by appointment
  • Epilepsy and Autism friendly private viewings can be arranged with dimmed lighting and reduced contact viewings to suit personal needs (by appointment)
Hancock Gallery is a listed Georgian Town House in an historically significant part of Newcastle city centre.
