About the work
Aomori, Honhsu, Japan Exploring the hinterland of the Aomori prefecture in the North of Japan’s largest island of Honshu, an idyllic place where more snow falls than in any other region of this wild country. This small forest was the only texture that broke the dense, grey cloud precipitating the billions of snowflakes that wove a thick white Wilton-esque carpet over the volcanic landscape. Here I was privileged to digest the most wondrous tranquillity of this culturally intriguing country, one where landscapes such as these, inspired the greatest of Japanese artists, Katsushika Hokusai.Medium: Giclée print on Hahnemühle Pearl 285gsm
