About the work
Regale Yamanouchi, Nagano prefecture, Japan One cannot fail to be touched by the warmth and emotion of the highly intelligent and social primates. The female Macaques are particularly family oriented which is clearly visible, as they lounge about the hot Onsen pools, rigorously grooming and caring for their very young infants. From a photographer's perspective, it is like being at the start of the 100 meter Final at the Olympic Games; there are so many cameras out, all vying for that one memorable image. I wasn't sure that I managed to capture a stand out moment, as it was so much busier than what I expected, however on the long flight home I had time to study the images and the infants eyes totally captivated that unique mother and infants bond.Medium: Giclee print mounted on Dibond
