About the work
"This narrative pot is inspired by my random shaping of slab-built vases to celebrate the intimacy between humans and nature. The shape and form of the pot inspired me to illustrate characters that matched the organic shapes and forms. The curves of the edges told me there’s a woman wearing a costume of a giant bird. The hybridised human and wildlife forms create an intimate and mutual dependence between us and our counterparts in the wild. The adventure begins only when one attempts to see from another’s eyes. Through the eyes of the ‘bird’ a human may see an alternative way of living beyond the familiar. When you hold the pot, you are invited to absorb the integrated perspectives, exploring who we are and our actions when we become part of the forgotten counterparts perspective."
