Soft, low light drifts across a tangle of wild flowers, with the city resting in the distance behind them. Sam Wood places the natural and the urban side by side, so that the end of the day feels like a gentle pause between the two. Warm and contemplative, it is a painting for anyone who knows the pleasure of stepping out of the city just as the light begins to fade.
