Temple Threshold by Matthew Lintott is a woodblock print dominated by a striking red palette that immediately captures the viewer’s attention. The piece forms part of Lintott’s ongoing exploration of “deep time and space” through woodcut relief printmaking. In this body of work, he employs recurring visual motifs to investigate the four classical elements. Earth, air, water and fire, he is creating what he describes as “modern relics.”
