About the work
"Recent years filled with fear and anxiety and illuminated by the blue light of our phones pushed me on a trip to my roots, to Polish folklore, as well as a return to my childhood interests from the time before I was socialised and categorised the world into bad and good, intuition, the world of spirits and magical dreams rituals. Especially nowadays it is so important to go back to the centre. My last paintings are metaphysical and driven by female energy. Inspired by the healing power of women, this specific exchange in the circles of women, when apparently completely different, sometimes strangers find out that they are connected by an invisible thread and talking about what happened to them has magical causative power. Journey of healing, of releasing the throat, following the intuition, going back to the past in order to revive and dissolve old wounds and take away the energy trapped in them. I draw from the knowledge that was passed on to me during the women's circle gathering, dream circles and the dream school course, as well as hypnosis. Dreams have always fascinated me, the night is wiser than the day, darkness is needed." – Marcelina Amelia.
