About the work
Untitled (Capitol detail) is taken from Longo's original large format drawing, Capitol (2013), an immense seven-panel photo-real depiction of the US Capitol Building. The stark, almost x-ray like study of the vast building invites the viewer to peer closer, whilst the confrontational, emotionless nature of the composition also exudes a feeling that one is being scrutinised at the same time. The Capitol is watching as well as being watched.Signature: Signed and dated in pencil at the lower right of the image, edition number lower left.
