‘Starman’ by Daniel Remer conjures a dreamlike assembly of wooden forms that gather into the suggestion of a figure. A triangle ruler like a celestial shard, a miniature cabinet stands as a vessel of hidden memory, a wooden ball at its side like a distant planet, while a larger, near-anthropomorphic form anchors the scene. The light fractures into theatrical shadows and piercing highlights, giving the objects a sense of quiet gravitas.
