The Spaceman (2nd Edition) by Jonathan Armstrong is a screenprint on Bread & Butter Edition 270gsm paper. Part of Armstrong’s ongoing Spaceman series, the work features a solitary figure in an astronaut suit standing centrally within the composition, rendered in stark black. Two overlapping circles, one pink and one purple, are layered over the figure. This introduces bold flashes of colour that animate the monochrome form. The interplay between the geometric shapes and the human silhouette creates a striking visual tension, exploring themes of isolation, exploration, and the meeting point between humanity and abstraction.
