Small Lie (Grey) (2017) by KAWS is a painted cast vinyl figure rendered in varying shades of grey with black accents on the artist's signature X motif eyes, hands and feet. Drawing on Pinocchio as its emotional source, the Companion slouches in dungarees with head bowed and nose elongated, projecting a quietly melancholic sense of guilt and shame.
