Hancock Gallery x Battersea Affordable Art Fair 2023

Spring is in the air and to us, that means one thing - it's almost time for the annual  Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London.

Spring is in the air and to us, that means one thing - it's almost time for the annual Battersea Affordable Art Fair. Kicking off on Wednesday 8th March until Sunday 12th March, the fair will see galleries from across the world come together to showcase 1,000s of original contemporary artworks, priced between £50 and £7,500.

We’re delighted to be exhibiting for the second year in a row and thoroughly enjoy meeting with the thousands of art lovers that attend across the five days. This year the organisers have stepped it up another level and have arranged DJ’s for late night viewings, family hour at the weekend with scavenger hunts and face painting and there will even be a live mural created by street artist David Shillinglaw during the fair.

Gallery manager Chris says “I’m thrilled to be showcasing new work from some of our most-loved artists at this years fair”, ahead of an exciting year of solo exhibitions at Hancock Gallery our curated selection of affordable art will feature exclusive work by Sam Wood, Kristina Chan and Iryna Yermolova. Iryna has been chosen as an inspiring female to be featured in the International Women’s Day section of the Fair. Iryna’s work celebrates the beauty of the female form. Her loose and responsive style of painting captures the way light reflects off her models like glass, with shadows and semitones, allowing her canvases the space and freedom to breathe.

We are extremely proud to announce that gallery artist Kristina Chan has been selected as a must-see artist by Fair Director Hugo Barclay. This is the first time Kristina Chan’s work will be shown at the fair. We first started working with Kristina in 2021 as part of a collaboration with Itamar Freed. Her practice spans printmaking, photography and installation, exploring the boundaries between individual and collective memory – and how memory affects our relationship with places. He says “I think her works will resonate with our visitors as they do for me personally. My advice to collectors: snap these artists up now – who knows where they will be next year!”
