“Hidden in plain sight” by Magnus Gjoen is a maximalist “glamouflage”, pieced together from fragments of other paintings to create a bold new composition. Butterflies from Florence's Opificio delle Pietre Dure sit against a camouflage base drawn from Tiepolo's Nuptial Allegory ceiling, its trompe l'oeil depth drawing viewers deeper into the scene. Two still lifes from Gjoen's private collection intertwine to complete this multifaceted, discovery driven work.
