About the work
Part of the Rock Pool collection, these dishes celebrate a stretch of Northumberland coastline between Howick and Craster, reminiscent of a walk along the shoreline, discovering the many layers of rocks and pebbles near Cullernose Point. Crafted from onyx black porcelain and black stoneware clays, the glazes are poured to capture the essence of water lapping the shore. The pebbles are hollowed and sculpted, their shapes becoming more defined through the hollowing process, similar to how they are continuously shaped by the sea.
