About the work

"Light, people and relationships are my primary concerns. Yet I know that if you, the viewer, can identify with a location in my painting, you will connect to it in a much stronger way." – Norman Long

Born in Preston, Lancashire, in 1976, Norman studied Fine Art at Newcastle University and later at the Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts. A celebrated plein air painter, he captures light as it falls and people as they pass, transforming ordinary interactions and scenes into extraordinarily vivid narratives. He is an elected trustee of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art and an active member of the distinguished Northern Boys group of outdoor painters. This piece is a giclée print on paper, produced in a limited edition of 20.
