“I love colours, I love experimenting with texture and different media. I love my palette knife more than my brush. The subject of my paintings is not so important for me as the composition. I think my graphic design background makes me always put composition and colours in first place.”
Iryna Yermolova was born in Ukraine and moved to the UK in 2005. Her career began within economics and graphic design. She credits oil painting with entirely transforming her life and outlook, allowing her to explore sensations that words and numbers fail to capture.
Yermolova's unique luminous and intuitive style is skilfully captured with luxurious oil on canvas. Her abstract depictions seem to cling tentatively to reality whilst also falling into a dreamlike state.
