Immerse yourself in a whirlwind of creativity and excitement as Hancock Gallery takes centre stage at The Late Shows, NewcastleGateshead's iconic annual culture crawl! Held on May 17th and 18th, this two-day extravaganza, now in its 16th year, promises an unforgettable journey through over 60 eclectic music venues, art studios, galleries, and museums.
The event allows participants to curate their own experience from the wide array of offerings. On Friday, May 17th, the event will take place in the Ouseburn from 6-10:30 pm, while on Saturday, May 18th, it will span venues across Gateshead from 6-10 pm and central Newcastle from 6-10:30 pm.
This year, Hancock Gallery will join other Newcastle based cultural institutions in offering one-off events such as hands-on workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, performances, and parties. The aim of The Late Shows is to encourage people to engage in cultural activities during their evenings. We will be welcoming visitors to take part in a quiz on pieces in the gallery. Those who complete the quiz will then be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher to spend on books or prints in the gallery. To celebrate art after dark, there will also be glow sticks to help guide your way throughout the night.
Creative Central NCL, a project funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority and Newcastle City Council, plays a crucial role in supporting cultural and creative initiatives in the region.
