Sherrie-Leigh Jones, a Brighton-based Artist and Printmaker situated in East Sussex, specialises in crafting envisioned landscape prints that derive inspiration from nature, natural phenomena, and the romantic sublime. Influenced by Japanese prints and movements such as Shin-hanga and Sansuiga, her creations encapsulate an idealised portrayal of landscapes featuring mountains, rivers, clouds, and mist. Sherrie's artworks transport viewers into realms of escapism while evoking the serenity and beauty found in nature, reflecting the changing seasons and the passage of time through ambient light and a rich palette of colours. In her creative process, Sherrie curates collages from photographs captured during her excursions and hikes across the English countryside, seamlessly integrating them with painted elements. These compositions undergo further transformation in the print studio, where they are exposed on screens and meticulously hand-pulled as screen prints, often employing graphite powder and pigments to achieve nuanced effects.
