About the work
Hazy and Honeyed depicts one of my favorite places in the whole world, the Big Sur coastline. When I lived in San Francisco, Big Sur was one of my favorite getaways. But the grind of work and life in San Francisco’s crowded urbanity - symbolized by the arched figures towering northward over the iconic Bixby Bridge - always loomed over my escapes into this otherwise unfettered wilderness. I painted this piece to remind myself to reframe the things that haunt our precious moments in the outdoors into reminders of how lucky we are to be out there, instead of letting them take away from the experience.Signature: Signed in pencil lower right and titled lower left
