Her practice spans painting, print, textile, photography, installation, video, and performance. Drawing from her Polish heritage, Marcelina explores themes of migration, motherhood, mental health, feminism, spirituality, personal rituals, dreams, and the complexities of the human experience. Her work blends folklore with contemporary narratives, childhood memories with emotional rawness, and sacred symbols with a deep sensitivity to the cycles of life and nature. Her visual language plays with the tension between desire and innocence, creating a poetic unease that invites emotional reflection. At the heart of her practice lies a fascination with memory both personal and collective and the transformative power of storytelling. Whether through performances or intimate artworks, she creates space for shared vulnerability, empathy, and healing.

Educated at the Jacek Malczewski School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa and the University of Westminster in London, Marcelina has exhibited internationally from New York to Milan, and her work has been featured in The New York Times, Art Maze, Create Magazine, Der Spiegel, and Booooooom.
In response to Poland’s shifting political climate and the ongoing fight for bodily autonomy, Marcelina founded Grupa Łono (Womb Collective) with fellow artist Marta Borkowska. The collective, born from a shared dream, acts as a feminist incubator for artistic and community-based expression. Their work explores emotional blockages, the female body, and our connection to nature and each other, always with a commitment to sensitivity and joy. At Lascaux and many sites across Spain and France, ancient rock art is to be found and roughly a third of it all is that of horses. Horses were always valued by those who used them for labour and transportation, or the wealthy for whom it was a symbol of prestige and power and status.
